Lyrics Dream Keeper

Preface to Stolen Generation: in every native culture an outside force has come in and changed the native ways and stole their children to teach them the white man ways and make the children slaves. These children forgot about their parents, songs, and medicine which is a way of life for all natives of every nation. It is time to awaken these stolen children and help them remember the original roots and bring back their magic.

Stolen Generation

I was taken from my family, saw my mother cry for me. soldiers held her back away, I tried to get free. Beaten everyday if we sang our songs, all traditions were stripped, they made it feel so wrong. Made us speak a foreign tongue; and if we didn’t play along they would put us in a hot box in the sun all alone.

Chorus

We are the stolen generation hear our cry, we are the stolen generation still wondering why? We are slaves and prisoners to the white man way, we are the stolen generation we will rise again someday. we will rise again someday. Oh someday

We are taught to read and write in this black book full of lies; they said it is the word of their god. It says thou shall not kill; but some didn’t make it back alive, So this is civilisation does it make you want to cry When old enough they gave me, blue suit to wear. They taught me to hate my kind left my soul in despair.

Chorus

We rode up to a village, saw my mother there, My heart skipped a beat. I knew what I had to do . I started shooting all the blue coats and warning my people, ripped off my shirt and I ran down to her. She hugged me; my spirit knew I was home once again. So this is civilisation does it make you want to cry again.

Chorus

Across the nations, we are the stolen generations, and we will rise again today
Across the nations, we are the stolen generations, and we will rise again today
Across the nations, we are the stolen generations, and we will rise again today
Across the nations, we are the stolen generations, and we will rise again today

Preface Dream Keeper, I was in meditation one day I had a vision of the dream keeper he was at a water fall calling all his animal spirits to help him conjure dream of those requesting a particular dream.

Dream Keeper

Dream keeper For a moment I lost my way, got scared and I tried to runaway, but it kept following me, ever after. Bring back the dream, where I had self esteem, and my journey was a little easier.
Dream keeper A dream when I was having fun and I loved everyone, and the world I knew really didn’t matter. I want a dream, that gives me peace, and brings me joy and laughter.
Dream keeper,
Dream keeper

Preface for Cherokee Rose: look up in my web for the story to the Trail of Tears a Cherokee tragedy. This song is dedicated for all my ancestors that gave their lives so that we could live on. US government found gold, where the Cherokee people lived then decided they wanted the land and began to relocate all of them to Oklahoma. Thus The Trail of Tears. A Cherokee rose grew wherever a mother lost tears for her child.

Cherokee Rose

Woke up to screaming, shots fired in the wind.
Looked outside my door saw blue coats everywhere
Rounded up like cattle, screaming obscenities
Shooting all that fought, killing our dignity.
We are a peaceful tribe, living in harmony.
It’s hard to image living this atrocity.
People dying, so much blood, no one cared
Crying on deaf ears; hope is something we all shared

Chorus

Broke your promises, stealing our lands
Many children died, buried in the sand
Mothers cried, tears on the ground aside
And on the trail of tears grew the Cherokee Rose.

Crying chant
Thousands were brutally taken, from their happy home.
Long miles of death and despair, still we roamed
Till we found a place, that had no mountains, no soul.
Disgraced our people, and stuck us in this hell hole

2nd chorus

Cherokee talks with spirit, we cannot be sold
Reduced to animals for the price of gold
Silently we cry for those left behind
I’ll always remember the Cherokee Rose

Crying chanting …And silently we cry.

Preface to We are One: When come into this world we have just come from the light. We experience anger, fear and frustration from our parents thoughts. We are also very telepathic this is how we can receive thoughts of the parents. I remember myself how frustrated I was that I could not move my hands and legs to do what I wanted. After all this emotional stuff I healed myself of all of this and I realised we are all one, together we can overcome any problem or situation.

We are one

Came from the light landed right here in hell.
Felt their fear and sadness, created an emotional jail.
Speaking with my mind, no one understood a word.
Just made funny faces, and goo, gooed me.
Arms and legs wouldn’t work, really frustrated me.
Felt like prisoner in this human fantasy.
Looked for the light that we all came in with
We feared the past and future, makes it hard to shift.

Chorus

In the silence of our minds
Lives, the spirit of love, for all of mankind
If we want it, if we trust it, you just have to believe
we…… are… one
One love, one light, one mother earth, one life

We can overcome this, if we all learn to love ourselves.
We cannot afford to be silent anymore
Feel your power let it radiate evermore
We can become that light, and shine on someone else.

Chorus

We are one, together we will overcome
We are one, together we will overcome
We are one, together we will overcome.
We are one, together we will overcome.
We are one, together we will overcome.

Preface for Do you Speak my tongue, as you go through this life you gain some awareness of the world and what matters. The hatred and judgment that comes out of the people is truly amazing, wondering as a society how far we have come. We know that we have to learn to love ourselves so that we can speak the same tongue. Love

Do you speak my tongue?

Do you speak my tongue, can you hear your words, of hatred from everything and everyone.
Do you speak my tongue; do see the people suffering from the wars, that greed created.
My people opened their heart’s, you wanted more, you just kept taking, till there was no more.
Do you speak my tongue, do you hear the crying, of my people, as they slowly die in the wind.

Chorus

We lived the way of our grandfathers forever.
The dog moon guided us to salvation, lifted our souls.
Grandfather’s laughter still sings in our hearts making us whole.
We lost sons and brothers, when the war cry blazed on.

Do you speak my tongue, do you know where I am coming from, I didn’t think so, you don’t believe
Do you speak my tongue; you judge me because I don’t embrace your religion or follow your creed.
Our medicine is strong; the four winds blow a new direction, a new vision.
Do you speak my tongue? Can we live together without hurting one another?

Chorus

Do you speak my tongue?

Preface for Illusion in the Mirror, My son Mivon came home one day from high school he mentioned how hard it was to keep it all together with the different personalities up and down some days are easy other days hard. How much our lives are destined by amount of self esteem in every individual makes it a very hard journey for all. The cure is simple learn to love ourselves.

Illusion in the Mirror

Things I want to do, things I want to be, look into my soul, see someone different, not me.
Sometimes I see that person, looking into the mirror, sometimes I like him, most of the time I don’t.
Looking for answers, I try to understand, why? Why do we judge ourselves, the judgement never ends.
I notice the unhappiness in many souls I meet, you know it’s time to change, life should be sweet.

1st chorus

It’s all an Illusion, what I am wanting to see.
Sometimes creates confusion not reality.

Smile and talk friendly trying to fit in, I am so scared they won’t be accept me, For what I really am.
Feel drained from all of this when I get home. Did I please them enough or am I just the fool.
I am going to make a difference, build my self esteem. I can feel confidant and believe in me.
I got to change, my negative point of view. I can make a difference, in all I set out to do.

2nd chorus

It’s time I believe what’s good about me
I really want to live this life the best of my ability

It’s all an Illusion in the mirror; it’s all an Illusion in the mirror! Illusion in the mirror! Illusion in the mirror!
